I recieved a defective item that overheats and destroys batteries. Because of this, my review may not represent the actual product when it does work. Also, I didn’t try out the hammer or the seat belt cutting part yet.

Right after I received this item, I put in a set of new AA batteries in and turned it on. The white LED light on the top was weak, when compared side by side with a flashlight with one LED. The emergency flashing red LEDs were also weak. While using it for a few moments, I noticed the handle (also the battery compartment) became warm. I turned the lights off and set the tool down on a table. It kept getting warmer so I removed the batteries. The batteries were starting to bulge and deform, and the device and batteries had a strong odor. I let it cool down and put in a new set of fresh batteries, and the same thing happened! There must be something wrong inside the device to cause two sets of batteries to begin overheating while turned off.

I don’t trust this tool, so Im going to try out the LifeHammer, a similar windshield shattering and seat belt cutting tool. I’ll just put a flashlight in my car, instead of getting a combined tool.
